MGM replaces Leo the Lion with Lana in 1948. Lou Valentino Collection.Lana worked like a dog, there is no other way to say it. In 1941 for example, she made three films, Honky Tonk with Clark Gable Jekyll and Hyde with Spencer Tracy, and Ziegfeld Girl with Judy Garland and company. Because of Lana's extensive body of work, this section will take some time to do. I will try and get most of her important films done soon.

Here is the basic layout for this section:

Documentaries

Lana Turner: Hollywood's Screen Siren (A Segment of A&E's Biography Series, 2000.)

Lana Turner: A Daughter's Memoir (A Soapbox Production of a Carole Langer Film for Turner Classic Movies, 2001.) (DVD)

MGM: When the Lion Roars (PBS, 1992.)

Lana (all made up) behind the scenes of "Imitation of Life" in 1959. Lou Valentino Collection.*Films with an asterisk in front of them are what I consider to be either a) important films in Lana's career or b) films that ushered in a new phase of her life.

*Note From Liza: In Lou Valentino's The Films of Lana Turner, he claims that it has been incorrectly reported that Lana appeared as a bit player in 1938's Four's a Crowd, yet film historian Leonard Maltin and the Internet Movie Database both claim that she DID appear. The film is not available on VHS and seems like it has been lost to the ages, so I can't go look for her myself. Anyone with info contact me at Liza@lanaturneronline.com.
