I really do enjoy this early Lana Turner film. Lana is
pretty, pert,
and a lot of fun. I think that her and Jane Bryan steal the show. The only
problem that I have with this film is the casting of Lew Ayres as a college
student. Even though he is handsome and funny in this film, I wonder how come
they didn't give the role to someone like John Carroll, Eddie Albert, Wayne
Morris, Kenny Baker, or Jeffrey Lynn who would have been more
believable in the role of a young college student. Lew Ayres had been in movies
since
the beginning of the decade and played everything from a soldier, to a
doctor, a composer (he was in "Broadway Serenade" with Jeanette McDonald the
same
year and also playing Dr. Kildare).
Other than that, I really do enjoy the film and it's one of Lana's
best.
